2 Years of Mindmeister for $35

I’ve been a Mindmeister subscriber for a few years and a “Business” level subscriber since we started work on TapCellar for iOS. It’s one of my favorite collaboration tools because multiple people can work on the same map and the integrated task management is nice when you share a deadline. This is an extraordinary deal. Mindmeister is normally $120 per year for a “Pro” account so $35 for two years is a huge savings.

iThoughts Preview on iOS 9

Toektaware (makers of iThoughts) have posted a few previews potential iOS 9 features and I have to say, I’m pretty excited for this stuff. Reminders Integration Spotlight Integration Multitasking

Mapping 101 WunderLink with Mindmeister

Creating notes with hyperlinks can be a real pain. All of the tedious jumping back and forth and searching the Internet kills most of the joy I get from writing good notes. Rather than get sidetracked with endless Internet searches, I let Mindmeister do the work for me. Here’s a little video demonstrating the WunderLink functionality of Mindmeister: Here’s the direct Vimeo link. I use Mindmeister for all of my collaborative concept mapping and for anything that I need access to while on Windows.

Some Links about Concept Mapping Apps

First up, there’s a pretty good rundown of Mind Mapping applications. I don’t disagree with their assessment, but I also reserve the right to prefer iThoughts as my primary tool of choice. You pretty much can’t go wrong today with one of these options. I’ll also add MindMeister as a really great multi-platform tool that also has solid collaboration features. I use it when I’m on Windows or if I need to share with someone else.

MindNode for iOS Update to 3.5

You really have to go out of your way if you want to use a bad concept mapping application for iOS. It’s a pretty great time to be a mapping nerd. MindNode 3.5 is out with a bunch of great features. Not only does it now support the grande phones, it’s received some serious redesign for the pickers and controls. The Font options are just crazy in this version. There are so many fonts available (including downloadable options) that they added a search bar to find the one you want.

iThoughts New Rainbow Generator

Give me a good concept mapping app and I’ll keep myself busy for hours. iThoughts just added a really nice way to create attractive rainbow colored maps and I think it’s great. That’s pretty cool. You can set the start color and let it make something great for you based on the chosen color palette or tweak the “Range” and get a variety of tones based on the number of nodes to color.
