The Codas

I'm adding to the cacophony of Coda blogging. It's good. It always been good. Every tweak on this site has been done with either Coda on my Mac or Textastic on my iPad. But Textastic is my least favorite way to work. Diet Coda1 is my new favorite.

Coda on the Mac is significantly better.

I kind of wish Panic made a note app for Dropbox. I guess if Dropbox ever provided direct SFTP login then Coda would work with it for text editing too. I think both scenarios are unlikely.

Shawn Blanc does his usual in-depth and thoughtful review of both versions of Coda. His words are better than mine.

For what it's worth, I purchased the MAS version of Coda for the Mac, in anticipation of iCloud sync with the iPad version. Although I haven't been thrilled with iCloud sync I am holding out hope that Apple figures out where they're headed with this big morass.
